TPS Wins Global Training Award at the 13th annual Engineering Construction Industry Training board (ECITB) Awards. Saudi Arabia’s Technology of Petroleum Services (TPS) takes the Middle East and Caspian regional title in the International Training Organisation of the Year category. The ceremony unfolds at Glaziers Hall in London on November 6, 2025, drawing global leaders in engineering training.
Ceremony Focuses on Skills Excellence
The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) organizes the event to honor top talent in construction, maintenance, and decommissioning across oil and gas, renewables, power generation, and chemicals. KBR, as category sponsor, hands the award to TPS for outstanding delivery of ECITB-approved training, products, and health safety programs. Judges highlight TPS’s high-quality Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI) training and its promotion of ECITB standards in Saudi Arabia.
TPS bases operations in Dammam, Eastern Province, since 2005. The company delivers advanced tools, solutions, and services to upstream and downstream oil and gas, petrochemical plants, industrial facilities, manufacturers, and contractors. It maintains deep involvement in pipeline construction projects throughout the region.
Journey to Accredited Training
TPS reaches out to ECITB Global in 2023 to introduce internationally accredited MJI training and testing. This step enhances its torquing and bolting tool sales. The MJI scheme adopts a four-stage industry model that equips workers with skills to dismantle, prepare, secure, and reassemble mechanical joints safely.
Two years later, TPS trains Saudi technicians for Saudi projects under these standards. In mid-2025, it earns approval for on-site machining (OSM) programs, expanding its reach. The firm evolves from service provider to tool manufacturer and licensed trainer, gaining a competitive edge in the market.
Voices from the Winners
Operations Manager Mutahir Zaib shares his thrill at the recognition. He calls it a major achievement and expresses deep appreciation. Zaib thanks ECITB for two years of support, including the London visit for the awards.
Sales Manager Abdul Razzak Shaikh praises the partnership. He notes how it delivers international credibility and positions TPS as ECITB’s brand ambassador in Saudi Arabia. Shaikh credits the guidelines for MJI steps, which greatly aid technician instruction. As hydraulic torquing tool makers and trainers, TPS stands out from competitors.
ECITB Chief Executive Andrew Hockey commends all winners. He points to their inspiring commitment to skills development worldwide. Hockey views TPS alongside global peers like Hydratight and Solid Rock as industry benchmarks.
Regional and Global Impact
TPS competes against strong finalists, securing its regional spot before Hydratight claims the overall international prize for a second year. The awards showcase Scottish successes too, with five local winners. This victory elevates Saudi Arabia’s profile in global engineering competence.
TPS strengthens oil and gas workforce skills to international levels. It supports Saudi projects with reliable training amid growing energy demands. The recognition cements TPS’s leadership in MJI and beyond.
