His leadership, marked by strategic vision and a passion for culturally resonant design, has positioned dwp as a preferred partner for global brands and Fortune 500 companies.

A Global Journey Rooted in Thailand

Born in Australia, Brenton Mauriello’s professional journey reflects a deep commitment to embracing diverse cultures. For 27 years, he has called Thailand home, where he has settled and become a citizen, showcasing his profound connection to the region. His experiences living in cities like Penang and Dubai have enriched his perspective, enabling him to craft designs that blend local heritage with international standards. This global outlook has been a cornerstone of his leadership at dwp, where he has fostered a collaborative and inclusive approach to design.

Brenton Mauriello’s association with dwp began in 2004 when he joined as a general manager. At the time, dwp was a collection of disparate design practices, but Brenton saw its potential. He quickly rose to the role of CEO, unifying the firm’s operations under a single, cohesive brand. In a recent transition, he assumed the position of Executive Chair, where he continues to lead dwp’s global strategy, operations, and business development. His ability to navigate challenges, such as guiding dwp through the COVID-19 pandemic, underscores his resilience and forward-thinking approach.

Driving Design Excellence in the Middle East

Under Brenton’s leadership, dwp has established a strong foothold in the Middle East, with offices in Dubai and Bahrain. The firm’s projects in the region exemplify its philosophy of delivering simple, elegant, and timeless design while incorporating sustainability and innovation. It’s dwp’s second W Hotel in the region after W Dubai – The Palm, reinforcing their leadership in bold hospitality design.

Brenton Mauriello’s philosophy aligns with dwp’s mission to deliver simple, elegant, and timeless design. He champions a collaborative approach, as evidenced by initiatives like dwp|signature, a platform that brings together global design talent to enhance customization and innovation. “It’s the death of ‘design by divas’,” Brenton told Indesign Live, emphasizing the power of collective creativity over individual egos.
