Dubai is preparing to host the 46th edition of Big 5 Global, one of the world’s largest construction trade events. The show will run from November 24 to 27, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Organisers expect to welcome more than 85,000 industry professionals and around 2,800 exhibitors, representing every part of the construction supply chain.

Project Pipeline Value

Figures released ahead of the event point to a construction market of historic size. Across the Middle East and Africa, the combined value of active construction projects is estimated at US$9.18 trillion. Out of this, around US$7 trillion worth of projects are in the pipeline stage, meaning they are in planning, design, or approval. Projects already under execution are valued at US$2.18 trillion.

Government Backing

Big 5 Global has consistently received support from the UAE government. This year’s edition is officially backed by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, reflecting the country’s commitment to strengthening ties with international construction players and showcasing Dubai as a centre for global trade and innovation in the built environment.

Exhibitors and National Pavilions

The exhibition will bring together thousands of companies from across the world. According to organisers, there will be more than 20 national pavilions, with confirmed participation from countries such as Germany, China, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia. These pavilions provide visiting companies with direct access to key suppliers and manufacturers while highlighting the global scale of the event.

In total, exhibitors are expected to showcase more than 60,000 products and solutions, ranging from building materials and machinery to new construction technologies. The event will also feature nine specialised exhibitions that focus on specific sectors within the industry, creating tailored opportunities for networking and sourcing.

Business Deals and Launches

Big 5 Global has built a reputation as a platform where major business deals are finalised and product launches take place. In previous editions, several companies used the event to announce new partnerships and showcase large-scale machinery.

Among the highlights, Falcon Motors secured exclusive dealership rights in the UAE for XCMG, one of the world’s largest construction machinery manufacturers. Liebherr Middle East also handed over its HS 8130.1 heavy-duty cycle crane to NMDC Group, equipment designed for dredging and soil compaction projects. Additionally, the Würth Group launched its regional construction materials division, marking a strategic step to strengthen its business in the Gulf market.

Domestic Projects in Dubai

The momentum is mirrored inside the UAE. Earlier this year, Dubai authorities approved a five-year internal roads development plan covering the period from 2025 to 2029. The programme includes 21 projects across residential, commercial, and industrial areas of the city. In total, the plan will deliver around 634 kilometres of new roads, with a budget of AED 3.7 billion.

One of the largest contracts under this scheme is the Al Fay Street Development, awarded in January 2025. The project, valued at AED 1.5 billion, involves major road and bridge works designed to improve traffic flow and connectivity across key districts. This infrastructure initiative shows how Dubai itself continues to invest heavily in expanding and upgrading its transport network.

Regional Market Breakdown

While the UAE plays host, much of the construction activity reflected at Big 5 Global comes from across the wider region. Saudi Arabia currently leads the way with a project portfolio estimated at US$1.5 trillion, making it the single largest contributor to the regional pipeline.

Overall, the Middle East and Africa account for €2.08 trillion worth of projects under execution, alongside €6.68 trillion in pre-execution stages. These figures underline the size of the market and why the event has become an essential stop for global companies looking to connect with decision-makers.

Industry Insight

Big 5 Global also hosts a strong knowledge programme, with more than 400 speakers set to share updates and insights on key issues facing the industry. Sessions cover everything from infrastructure delivery and building technology to materials sourcing and project management.

The presence of such a wide range of speakers reflects the scale of the industry in transition and provides a forum for practical discussions on how current projects are being delivered.
